How much does it cost to connect a private house to the sewer. How to connect the house to the central sewerage system. Benefits of Central Networking and Limitations
Every owner of a future private house dreams of comfortable conditions accommodation. Comfort is impossible without a high-quality sewage system. If you decide to build it yourself, then before you dig a pit, you need to clarify whether there is a central sewage system near the house. Provided that the city sewage system is located next to a private house, there is a need to connect to the system.
If you look with an unprofessional look at the process of installing a sewage system in a private house or in an apartment, then you can not see the fundamental difference. When considering the details, there are significant differences. The advantages of laying a sewage system in a private house are obvious. In the bathroom of the apartment, you will not be able to arrange the plumbing equipment the way you want, and your sewage system is constantly dependent on the decency of your neighbors.
Connection to the central sewerage system of a private house
Connecting the sewerage of a private house to the city sewerage can be done independently, but for this you need to obtain the appropriate certificates and approvals. This is problematic, but it will save significant amount your budget, which can be spent on other private home needs. You should not connect the sewer illegally, because after that you will have to pay a large fine and spend a considerable amount on dismantling.
Preparation stages:
- Construction of an inspection well on the territory of the site, with which you can control the system, as well as carry out maintenance and repair work.
- Digging a pipe trench and connecting to a central well.
- Compound internal system and pipeline devices.
Advantages of connecting to the central sewerage system of a private house
- Substantial savings on the purchase, installation and maintenance of autonomous sewage systems.
- Long-term use of the sewage system, subject to regular payment.
- There is no need to control the quality and quantity of water.
preparation of trenches and laying of pipes for connection to the central sewerage system
The first steps
First, you need to decide on the type of connection. Separate use when connecting two types of sewerage - storm and household. With a mixed connection, one large pipe is drawn, which is connected to common system... An insert into the city sewage system is impossible without visiting the city water utility, where you need to get permission to connect to the city sewage system. If technical capabilities allow, you will be easily given required document... Next, you need to call a specialist to draw up a plan and apply a laying scheme to it, you also need to conclude an agreement on drawing up a project, which is approved by a representative of the water utility, as well as an architect. Neighbors must sign for permission to work near their houses and plots. In conclusion, the vodokanal signs an agreement for the reception of sewage.
If the pipeline runs above the site, then there is a need to install a pressure sewer:
- On the principle of a septic tank, they equip a receiving well with a sump for wastewater.
- A pressure water supply is supplied to the inspection well, from which wastewater will go by gravity into the city network.
There are several ways to connect a branch to a sewer pipe:
- Install the tee on the cut piece of pipe. They put it on with a clutch, the joints are welded.
- Connection via adapter adapter. But in this case, it is necessary to shut off the water in the system, make a hole with a drill, tighten the adapter, tighten the bolts. If there are no bolts, then tighten the nuts on the degreased surface.
Entrust this process to specialists, since the absence of leaks and the correct operation of the system depend on the quality of the tie-in.
When digging a trench, you need to choose the right width so that there is room for laying the parts. Remember to compact the bottom well and start preparing your pillow with a mixture of sand and gravel. It needs to be compacted at the beginning and two meters from the well. For an external pipeline in a private house, cast iron or polymer pipes are used.
preparation of sewer pipes
The sequence of laying the plumbing:
- The pipes are flared down.
- Carry out a thorough cleaning of the joints.
- The joint parts must be well lubricated with soap.
- Measure the length and insert the pipe all the way into the socket.
The entire pipeline is laid according to this scheme. Check the slope of the pipes before backfilling. First, the pipe is covered with sand by 5-10 cm, then it is necessary to water it with water so that the sand subsides, and then the soil is filled up.
After you have resolved the issue with the central sewage system, think about how to remove from the site rainwater... This is a simple procedure, but keep in mind that during heavy rain, the collection well will overflow and the sewage will spill out. To avoid trouble, it is necessary to make the tie-in separately, because the central pipeline is capable of more than a private sewer system. In case of unpleasant surprises from the water utility, or other nuances in which it is impossible to connect to the city network, install a separate container on the site to collect rainwater. The reservoir is cooled with soil. Due to the low temperature, algae and bacteria multiply in it. If you lay a drain to it and put a filter, then debris will not get into the tank. The water from the container can be used for watering the garden or for other household (non-drinking) purposes.
connection of pipes to the central sewerage
Pipeline test stages:
- There is a need to determine the correctness of the system laying and the accuracy of the docking, therefore the external lines must be laid without rubber rings.
- The stage is carried out after the installation of the system, when the pipes and septic tanks have not yet been filled up. The system is subjected to maximum stress in all areas. At this stage, you can visually identify existing problems, see defects and damage.
When self-installing sewer pipes, you need to avoid the following mistakes:
- Check the slope of the pipe during design and assembly.
- Do not use excessive force during flare installation as this may damage the seal. Use petroleum jelly as a lubricant to avoid breakage.
- If you do not have experience with gluing, then use a socket, since it is easier to assemble.
- Improper fastening of pipes leads to their sagging and destruction of rubber seals.
Connection problems
There is a possibility that various engineering communications, heating networks, electricity networks, gas can pass from the sewer branch to the house. Connection is not possible:
- if several communications pass between the house and the city sewer;
- when the system is dilapidated;
- when passing underground a private system with high connection costs.
sewerage connection rules
In such situations, it is possible to establish an autonomous wastewater treatment system. It is necessary to pump out water from septic tanks twice a year, the waste sludge can be used as fertilizer. The unprecedented demand for modern autonomous sewage systems is due to several reasons and advantages:
- Thanks to its robust body, the plastic does not deform or corrode.
- The unit is compact and easy to assemble, lightweight, and takes up little space on the site.
- No special maintenance is required, there is no need for a sewer service, and the used sludge does not have an unpleasant odor.
- Long service life - 50 years.
The only drawback of autonomous sewage stations is dependence on electricity, that is, the installation is not recommended for use in areas where there are power outages. Before installing a septic tank, you need to decide how many family members will live in the house, and calculate how many liters of water to purchase a sewer system for.
Regardless of what choice you made - you preferred the city sewage system or decided on an autonomous one, remember that it is better to entrust the installation and connection to professionals. Thus, you will relieve yourself of unnecessary responsibility and avoid large financial costs for expensive repairs. Experts themselves will determine the place of installation of a septic tank or laying a trench to the city sewage system. In addition, they can help with the preparation of the necessary documents. You will receive a quality service, and you will also be able to enjoy the benefits of civilization for a long time.
Was comfortable, you need to create an effective sewer network to which the bathroom and kitchen are connected. Systems can be equipped independently or chosen ready-made solution in the form of a central sewer drain. This option is characterized by a number of advantages and connection features.
Inset of the sewerage system of a private house into the centralWhat is the advantage of connecting to a central sewerage system
When planning a connection to a central water supply and a centralized sewerage system, you can count on the following positive aspects:
- Cost savings due to the absence of the need to purchase equipment for the construction of the well and its maintenance. Some consumables (mainly a pipe) will have to be purchased, but in this case, these are the minimum costs.
- City sewerage is a mandatory control of the quality and quantity of wastewater, therefore, claims against the owner of a private house on this issue are excluded.
- To ensure the functioning of the system, it is enough to make a regular payment.
- First, an employee of the land committee is invited, who will create a plan of the site with a house printed on it and develop a sewage project in;
- Application for development is being submitted technical conditions through which the sewer connection will be carried out;
- An agreement is concluded with the design organization involved in the work (the document describes the tie-in to the sewer). The project is approved by the architectural service and the water utility company;
- A permit is issued by an architect to perform tie-in work by a specific enterprise;
- If the central one can be built only if the road surface is disturbed, this type of work is additionally taken in the enterprise operating the road;
- Immediately before the execution of work, the project is accepted by the water utility and an agreement is concluded for the provision of services related to the reception of wastewater.
It is important to remember that the supply of sewerage to a private house is possible only with the written consent of the neighbors. Before starting, the water utility is provided with a written notice of the completion of the work.
Preparatory measures are carried out in a similar way if it is planned to connect the water supply to a private house. Without all these documents, unauthorized connection is fraught with serious fines and even forced dismantling of the assembled system.
To keep your own participation in the installation to a minimum, you can offer the water utility funding for the modernization of the drainage system branch, which is adjacent to the house.
For vodokanal, such events are accompanied by improved reporting, and the owner of the house will not have to personally call the geodetic service and deal with the registration of documents.
Arrangement of the site before the tie-in
Another preparatory moment before the centralized sewage system is connected is to perform a number of works on own site... Prepare in the following order:
- An audit well is erected on the site. It is possible to lay a sewer with a connection to the central system only if there is such an element that provides access to an individual pipeline for the purpose of its maintenance or repair.
- Dig a trench under sewer pipe and prepare the place where the drain line will join the well.
- They connect the sewage systems existing inside the house with a common outlet.
- When all the activities are completed, you can contact the city service, which will provide a supply.
The depth of the trench for laying the sewer must be more than 1 meterTo eliminate the unpleasant moments associated with the operation of the drainage system in winter, it is necessary to lay pipes at a depth of at least a meter, providing for a trench of the appropriate size.
Important nuances
In addition to the minimum meter depth in the process of laying the pipeline, its slope is provided, which is 5 mm for each running meter. If the slope is made less than 3 mm, clogging of pipes during operation is possible. A negative effect is also present with a large slope exceeding 7 mm, since in this case the pipes wear out quickly.
If it is necessary to connect the water supply to a private house, the pipes are laid to an even greater depth (at least 120 cm). The presence of a slope in this case is not necessary, since the water is supplied under pressure and contains a minimum of impurities.
What is the difference between storm sewers
In addition to organizing waste disposal. At first glance, the simplest solution is to install a drainage system on the house and insert it into a common sewer well to redirect water there. However, from a technical point of view, such measures are unacceptable due to the likelihood of overflowing the well and the release of the sewage present in it. Responsibility in the end is borne only by the owner of the site, who is the culprit of the organization.
According to the rules, not only the central sewerage system is equipped, but also a storm outlet connected to the appropriate system. After completing the work, rainwater and wastewater flows down the pipes into the central collector.
WATCH THE VIDEO
Characteristic feature storm sewer is its high throughput, thereby eliminating system overload. In order to properly centralize the drainage of melt and rainwater, the installation is carried out by providing an insert into the pipe, which will prevent the reverse flow of rainwater in the event of a heavy downpour, followed by flooding of the site.
What could be better than your own home? Only the house that has nearby central communications networks... After all, then the idea of comfort generally acquires a different meaning. Judge for yourself. There is a living space, outside the walls of which the neighbors do not yell. There is a piece of land on which you can not only install a gazebo and put up a barbecue, but also set up a vegetable garden and plant a garden in order to delight yourself and loved ones with organic products. Also, in the case of a private house, you can forget about the daily search for a parking space - the car will always stand in one place and within walking distance. Already good! And to all this is added the absence of problems with finding sources of water supply and pumping liquid waste from a cesspool or septic tank.
These "lucky ones" are most often close large settlements ... And they just simply need to collect required documents, go through the approval procedure and select the method of connecting to the network, if options are provided. All this will be discussed in this article. True, we will only touch on the sewerage system.
Required documents
In order to start the procedure for the legal registration of a tie-in into the central sewerage network you need to collect the following documents:
- plan of the land plot and domestic sewerage;
- certificate for the house and land, i.e. documents confirming ownership;
- a diagram of the future connection, issued by the water utility and signed by the project company;
- permission from the chief architect of the district to carry out these works. Moreover, a permit is issued here either for a specific company that will carry out the work, or for an independent insert;
- document certifying that new site pipes does not affect other pipes of the central network;
- written consent of neighbors (if necessary);
- notification to the service company about the time of the work.
Connection stages
As mentioned earlier, the work on connecting to the central sewerage network can be carried out by a contractor or in-house. The purpose of these methods is the same, but the means of achievement are different. So, if this is a contractor, then basically only money will have to be spent. Well, or even rip off the voice, in case of bad faith of the workers. But if the work is supposed to be carried out independently, then money can be saved. But then, all the problems associated with this fall on your shoulders.
In order for these difficulties to be less, it is desirable stick to the following plan:
1. Develop a diagram of the future connection. To do this, you need to contact the organization that provides these services. Usually these are companies licensed to carry out geodetic works.
2. Develop technical conditions necessary for connection. To do this, you need to collect a certain package of documents and come with it to the organization serving the sewer network you are interested in.
3. Go through the procedure for coordinating the connection diagram and technical conditions with the district architect.
4. Connect the cottage to the central sewerage network. Moreover, this must be done under the supervision of a specialist from the water utility.
5. Inform the service company about the work done and conclude a contract for water disposal with it.
Connection methods
As you know, the central drainage system can collect not only domestic wastewater, but also rainwater. Therefore, the ways to connect the property to There are two central sewerage networks:
- Separated- this is when a pipe with domestic water is connected to one pipe, and with a storm water pipe - to another pipe. Moreover, the latter can not be cut. And having dug a special container into the ground, drain rainwater there and use it for your own needs. For example, for watering a vegetable garden.
- Mixed- all water from the site is discharged into one pipe, which is part of a mixed-type sewer system.
Preparatory work
Before connecting to the network, you must carry out the following preparatory work:
1. Dig a trench for the pipeline. This can be done either manually or with the assistance of a mini-excavator.
2. Dig on your own land plot revision well. It is necessary for the maintenance of domestic sewage.
3. Lay pipes to the central sewerage network. Moreover, this should be done so that the slope of the pipeline is 3-5 cm per 1 running meter. This slope is needed so that the wastewater flows out by gravity.
In conclusion, I would like to note once again that the work on connecting the property to the central sewerage system, should be carried out only after the approval of the supervisory authorities. Otherwise, the violator will face a fine and the cost of dismantling what has been done.
The need to crash into the sewer arises when buying home appliances: washing or dishwasher... The cut into the sewer pipe is carried out different ways, depending on the type of system.

Pipes used in sewerage
The following pipes are used for sewage:
- made of plastic;
- steel or cast iron.
There are plastic pipes made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polypropylene (PP). The former are used for internal wiring as risers, for external sewerage - with insulation. Polypropylene pipes are durable and resistant to high temperatures. As for cast-iron pipes, they, and not steel ones, proved to be better in use. After all, steel is a metal subject to corrosion. However, the negative side of cast iron pipes is a lot of weight. Thus, polymer pipes are better in all respects.
Attachments for tapping
For a tie-in into the sewer system, use:
- tee;
- adapter;
- pipe.
The tee is most often connected to plastic pipes. On the eve of work, the water is turned off. The sequence of actions is as follows:
- The pipe is cut so as to remove from it a part equal to the length of the tee.
- The pipeline is assembled by inserting rubber seals.
To prevent clogging of the sewer during work, use an oblique tee.
Sometimes it is not possible to disassemble the sewer system, for example, if it is cast iron. Then they cut into it, drilling a hole, while using an adapter.
Photo: AdapterHowever, it should be remembered that the adapter usually connects pipes, the size of which is several times smaller than that of the pipe into which the tie-in is made. In this case, the adapter is connected to the pipe from above or at an angle of 45 degrees.
An insert into the sewer pipe using an adapter is carried out in the following sequence:
- The pipe is preliminarily cleaned at the place of work.
- A hole is made according to the diameter of the adapter.
- The adapter is fastened with clamps and coated with sealant.
- Finally, the rubber adapter and pipe are inserted into the adapter.
If the pipes in the house are metal, then the tie-in into the sewer is performed using pipe sections. Its diameter should be the same as the diameter of the pipe into which they are cut. This is necessary to reduce the gap between the pipes.
It is very important: before you start drilling the pipe, warn your neighbors not to drain the drains for a while and make sure for yourself that there is no liquid and pressure in the system.
Insertion into the riser
As a rule, the riser is made of a plastic pipe with a diameter of 110mm. If the pipe to be connected is of a smaller diameter, then an adapter is used.
It should be remembered: if the drain goes through the riser from the upper floors, the presence of protruding parts of the pipe is extremely undesirable, since a blockage can form in this place due to debris falling from above.
An insert into a sewer riser becomes much more difficult if pipes of the same diameter are 110 mm. In such cases, a part of the pipe is removed, then a tee and expansion joints are used. The compensator is a piece of pipe with different diameters. With the wide part, it is attached to the riser, and with the narrow part, to the tee. Before installation, you need to calculate at what height the tee will be installed. This is important because the slope of the pipeline must be at a certain height. In this case, you should take into account the length of the riser, which will go into the lower part of the tee. This is how the lower mark for cutting the riser is determined.
The top mark is calculated as follows. The part of the riser to be cut must be equal to the length of the expansion joint. The length of the expansion joint is added to the lower mark and the upper mark is obtained.
Photo: Insert tee and expansion joint into the riserHow to crash into a sewer pipe. The order of work.
- The pipes of the riser are cut out according to the outline. A hacksaw is used for plastic pipes.
- The part of the riser, which will go under the expansion joint, is coated with sealant.
- Put on the compensator until it stops.
- Connect the compensator and the tee, connect the pipeline.
- The stand is attached to the wall with clamps. The clamp prevents the pipe from sliding down and the pipe connection from undoing.
In order to understand how the sidebar is made, it is worth watching the video:

Other cases of tapping into the sewer
Sometimes there are situations when there is no way to cut the sewer pipe and use the tee, and the cut pipe will be smaller than the main one. Then the inset should be done using a pipe lining.
Photo: Insert into a horizontal pipe from above
For work, a pad of the same diameter is selected with a pipe to which the connection is made. Then the sequence of actions is as follows:
- A hole is cut out in the pipe, the edges of the cuts must be cleaned.
- The edges of the hole are lubricated with a sealant and a patch is applied so that the outlet pipe coincides with the cut hole.
- The cover is fixed with clamps, a plug is put on the drainage system.
The flawless operation of the sewerage system depends on the correct selection of pipes and a high-quality tie-in into the sewerage system.
.
In the process of building a house, it came to the sewerage ... In the technical conditions issued when obtaining a building permit, it is written simply and without fancy - "waterproofed sump". But I don't really want to call the sewers every month, or even earlier. The neighbors, who, by the way, say the same in the TU, made it even easier - 3 1.5-meter rings WITHOUT BOTTOM ... Like, there are no wells nearby, water from the water supply system, the neighbors above are almost pouring into the ditch. .. Again, no one will dive there, if suddenly a SES check. And it’s unlikely, to be honest. But this method somehow disgusts me ...
In short, I began to think, count, and consult with everyone. One of the colleagues unexpectedly asked - "Do you live in a deaf village?" It seems not a village (a settlement of regional significance in the Yaroslavl region). "Do you have a sewage system there?" "Well, of course, we have a whole bunch of five-story buildings." "So connect to the central one, do not be wise!".
This conversation, as they say, sunk into my soul. “Why not?” I think. I went to our glorious housing and communal services department, or whatever it is called. There they were very happy and surprised. We say that we are always happy to support the initiative of residents, we will help in any way we can, in addition, we will then connect to this pipe only with your permission (and there, in principle, many people can be connected). Here I must say about the location of my house. Hastily sketched a small plan.
My house is highlighted in black. The existing sewerage system is bold. Accordingly, I had two connection options - 1. To the well, to which 200m, 2. To the well, to which 150m. Naturally, the shorter, the better, especially since the pleasure is not cheap - 1000 r / m + every 50 m a well, its price is about 10,000 rubles. But the bias, as can be seen from the diagram, is towards my house. And it is more logical to connect using the first option. So they told me in housing and communal services. There is a natural slope in that direction, there is a field - I don't want to dig it. I agreed with two neighbors, so the amount divided by three did not seem so big anymore. Moreover, there are still a couple of houses under construction on the way of the proposed sewage system, so there is a hope that they will be connected in the future ... In general, in the housing and utilities sector, we agreed that closer to the beginning of November (it was in October) we conclude an agreement with them and they pave everything before winter.
In early November I come to the housing and communal services. And then they tell me - our master went to your site, measured everything, in principle, you can connect to another well (up to which 150 m), there is a slight slope in your direction. And then there are solid pluses - 150 m instead of 200 m, a whole bunch of neighbors with whom you can share the costs, beauty. Well, let's dig in there, I say, I don't mind, if only I don't freeze, otherwise it turns out shallow. No, what are you saying, we have been doing this for a long time. Over there in G ... they did 250 m of sewerage on the surface - it doesn't freeze! (Wizards, damn it!). In general, I gave an advance payment of 70,000, signed a "contract" (such a pussy, laughed to tears, but that's another story). Well, in general, we started working in 3 days.
We dug something there for half a day, then I decided to go and see what was going on there. Here are just their Chief Engineer goes there. On the way, he tells me, they say, the master intended something wrong, it turns out the pipe will go a little higher. But that's okay, throw snow on it in winter, that's all. We arrive - the picture is this: from the existing well, into which they made a tie-in, we have already passed about 40 m (there, according to calculations, there should be the first new well) to my house, respectively, about 100 m.And the pipe goes already 40 centimeters from surface. The engineer tells me - well, the master made a big slope of the pipe, made a little mistake (although I came during the installation - they burned almost without a slope). But supposedly closer to my house there will be a rise in the relief, but here there is just a hole, they will bring soil, throw it over.
Well, therefore, we are digging further. Another day fiddled. The delivery of soil was expressed in what - I had heaps on the site after the foundation was built - you can, I say, take them, level everything. So one pile was leveled - about the size of a car. Thank you anyway.
Then the director of the housing and communal services calls me - come, she says, we can't do anything here. I come - she starts to rub me in - you need to raise the site, you have it low, your foundation is low, you will still raise the house - and. etc. In general, at first they told me - the pipe will come out of the ground 50 cm below the level of my foundation. In principle, it is tolerable, it is better to insulate it, if the eyeliner from the house is not very long, you can ... Then they say - they say, lower by 10 cm than the top of the foundation (flush with the ground - they said so, but in reality, I think, there would generally have turned out an aqueduct).
In short, doubts have loaded me. We agreed with them - the work was stopped, I will think, I will advise how I should continue to be. I was already thinking about making a pressure line from the house, or pouring it out there immeasurably. In the end, I brought two more or less knowledgeable people to the site, including the one who advised a colleague))). They, just looking at the first well made by the masters, before reaching my house, offered to send them to a known address. As for whether it will freeze or not, my colleague suggested that I pee directly into this new well and take a look. Now, he says, the temperature is about minus 1, and it will freeze (the depth of the well there is no more than 30-40 cm).
In short, we decided to return the money. True, the contract was like this - we will take 5-7 thousand from you, we bore the costs .. Suffer, I think, you still have to hire a tractor, connect electricity, etc., in short, to quarrel with you ... As a result, they returned money minus 6000)))). So I was left without a central sewerage system.
By the way, there was another connection option, everything is fine with a slope, where the length is greater. How the problems started, I suggested to them - let's connect there? After all, they themselves wanted there at first. Not in any - there is quicksand, to sprinkle too much rubble, it will be expensive, in general, we will not do there, make a sump. The question, why was it first offered there, remained unanswered ...
Now I'm thinking how to make a septic tank ...
