How to set up nfc for a troika card. "Mobile ticket": "Troika" in a smartphone. In case of failure
With the growing popularity of the payment system Apple Pay the demands of its users are also growing. I want to pay with convenient service wherever possible, including in transport. Is it possible to pay Apple Pay on the subway, how to digitize a payment card and enter it into the phone - these questions are often asked by the owners of iPhones. Let's try to give answers to them.
Is it possible to pay in the metro from an iPhone
Apple Pay payment system appeared in Russia in 2016. But the possibility of paying for metro fares with its help has become available to users only in April 2019. And then, with some restrictions:
- you can pay with Apple Pay only in the metro of Moscow and St. Petersburg;
- Payment is supported only by turnstiles with square shape sensors.
But in any case, this is a big step forward. In addition, the restrictions are more than offset by the advantages of using the payment service:
- settlement with with Apple Pay can be made not only at turnstiles, but also at ticket offices and subway terminals;
- devices necessary for using Apple Pay are installed at all metro stations;
- when buying a ticket in this way, there is a 20% discount on travel.
In the near future, it is planned to introduce support for the Apple payment service in the subways of Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. At the time of this writing (early 2019), this is not possible, but we advise residents of these cities to follow the news.
By the way! Good news for those with Android smartphones - in the metro of both capitals, you can also pay using the Samsung Pay app.
How to buy a metro ticket from an iPhone
Paying Metro Apple Pay is the same as paying for any other purchase using this payment service. If you use an iPhone or iPad, the algorithm of actions will be as follows:
- open the Wallet app;
- select the required card;
- bring the gadget to the turnstile sensor or terminal at the checkout;
- put your finger on the fingerprint scanner;
- wait for the confirmation of the transaction.
To pay using iWatch, you will need to double-click on the button on the side of the watch case and bring it to the reader on the turnstile or at the cash register so that the watch screen faces the device. As soon as the fare is paid, the clock will vibrate, indicating a successful operation.
Important! For payment, you can use any bank cards entered in the memory of your gadget.
Linking a transport card to Apple Pay
Residents of the capitals, who often use public transport, usually use the Troika card to pay for travel. This means of payment has long become familiar and convenient. Therefore, the question often arises of how to add a Troika card to Apple Pay in order to continue using it through a smartphone.
Alas, there is no way to add the transport card to the memory of the gadget. Apple Service Pay is designed to work exclusively with bank cards Visa and MasterCard systems. And Troika is not a bank card and, accordingly, does not meet the necessary conditions for linking to a payment service:
- the card does not belong to any payment system;
- the Troika number does not coincide with the bank card numbering standards (11 characters instead of 12);
- Troika has no security code;
- the card does not have a fixed expiration date (it is valid for 5 years after the last use).
That is, even if you try to digitize it, you simply fill in the appropriate fields in Valleta. So, even despite the presence of a modern payment service in your phone or watch, you will have to use the Troika card in its natural form.
There have been many conversations on this topic, the brakes are even greater, but a breakthrough has finally come: the Troika universal transport card can now be right in your smartphone.
From 4 September operators MTS, MegaFon and Beeline, together with the Moscow Metro and the Department of Transport, launched the Mobile Ticket service.
To experience these fruits of civilization, you will need:
- NFC-enabled smartphone
- Special SIM card.
More details:
- The NFC module uses short-range, high-frequency wireless communication technology to facilitate the exchange of information between devices (see Wikipedia). An example of using NFC for payment: NFC-smartphone as a bank card. Not all smartphones support NFC, but there are many, especially mid-range and high-end ones. By the way, in the iPhone, the NFC module for Russia is programmatically blocked, the company offers to purchase a special unblocking antenna (very funny).
- You need to get a SIM card with a special chip to support NFC in the salon of your telecom operator (now - MTS, MegaFon, Beeline). Replacing yours with a new one is free. The main thing is that one is available, and the salon employee understands that it does not happen often. Moreover, in theory, he should explain to you its work, including all the numbers. This SIM card works in the same way as Troika.
After inserting a new SIM card into your smartphone and not forgetting to turn on NFC in it, you can then simply touch the phone to the metro turnstile. This will read the fare, and you, as usual, will be allowed inside the subway. You do not need to install any applications for this.
Cash is debited from the balance mobile phone the passenger is similar to the prices of the Troika card or from the account of the plastic card linked to him.
If the balance of your Troika ticket drops from 150 to 90 rubles, it will be automatically replenished to the original amount. Auto payment can be disabled by switching to manual payment mode via SMS (by sending a message to the short number 3210, there is no commission).
The disadvantage of the current implementation of the Troika is that it is not yet possible to write passes on it. This opportunity will appear later. At the moment, you can pay by phone only for a "single trip" - for 30 rubles. By the way, acquiring simple card for 60 trips at the Metropolitan ticket office, you can reduce the price of a trip to 23 rubles.
If your smartphone is completely discharged, you can still pay for one trip with it. If your phone with a travel pass is stolen, the ticket (unlike the usual Troika) can be blocked together with the SIM-card, and then you can get it again and absolutely free of charge at the operator's office along with the usual phone number.
"Mobile ticket" in another application
"Troika" - as in usual form and in your smartphone - it works not only in the subway. You can also pay with it at the Aeroexpress or to enter the Moscow Zoo. True, by the way, for those wishing to visit this interesting institution: now a ticket to the capital's zoo costs 400 rubles. on weekdays and 500 on weekends. Free for students and children. Have a rest and do not deny yourself anything!

It is an ordinary plastic card with unique number which is kind personal account... The user can deposit a certain amount of money on it and then spend it on travel in the above types of transport.
More recently, replenish the card " Troika»Could only be done at the ticket office of the Moscow metro, but now cardholders have the opportunity to do this remotely using a mobile phone. Our article will talk about replenishing the card “ Troika»Using a mobile phone.
What is the Troika card and where does it work?
- As already mentioned, “ Troika"Is an electronic plastic card, performing the function of a travel ticket, which makes it possible to ride around the capital on almost all public transport. You can deposit money on the card, which will be automatically transferred to trips, as well as write down standard travel tickets on it, such as “ Single», « 90 minutes», « TAT" other. Figure 2. What is the Troika card and where does it work?
- In addition to travel, using the card " Troika»In some parks of the capital and at VDNKh you can pay for a skating rink, as well as buy tickets to the zoo, museums and planetarium. Where can I buy a Troika card? The cost of the card and the price of one trip
- Map « Troika»Is available for purchase, both for residents of Moscow and for guests of the capital. You can buy it at the box office at one of the Moscow metro stations or at a ground transportation kiosk. She is worth everything 100 rubles, but if the cardholder ever ceases to be useful, he has the right to return it back to the cashier and get the money back.
IMPORTANT: Only those funds that were spent on the purchase of the card are refunded. That is, 100 rubles... The money that remains on the balance sheet cannot be cashed out.
- The cost of travel in the metro or ground transport according to the card " Troika"Is 35 rubles in one trip. In comparison, a regular paper one-way ticket costs 55 rubles... So, in addition to the obvious usability of the card, it is also worth noting significant savings. Maximum amount that can be credited to the card - 3,000 rubles... If this money is not spent within five years, it will burn out.
How to top up a Troika card using a mobile phone?
- In addition to the standard balance top-up “ Triplets»Through subway ticket offices and terminals, it is possible to transfer funds for travel directly from the personal account of a mobile phone using an SMS service. You will need to forward SMS message to the room 3210 with the text " troika 0012345678 500", where " 0012345678 "- the number of the card indicated on its other side, and" 500 " - transfer amount. Immediately after sending an SMS message, you will receive another "SMS" with a request to confirm the operation.

How to check the balance of a Troika card using a mobile phone?
- Unfortunately, today there is no way to find out the balance of the card " Troika"By means of an SMS service. The only option to track your balance remotely would be call to service customer support by phone 3210 ... Connect with the operator, dictate the card number to him and ask him to voice the balance.
- Also, another option for remote control of the balance can be the installation of a special mobile application " My Three", Which we will talk about a little later. However, the most reliable way to track funds on a card are special wall terminals at metro checkpoints.
Can I link my Troika card to my mobile phone?
- According to data from official site mayor of Moscow, up to 2020 year it is planned to create a system of bonuses for cardholders " Troika". For moving around the city by any type of transport using the card " Troika»The owner will receive special bonuses to his account, which he can later spend on trips around the city, buy tickets to cinemas, attractions, exhibitions and zoo for them, as well as pay for many other types of entertainment.

- Unfortunately, today the card “ Troika»Is not fully finalized and does not have a sufficient level of protection. Therefore, it is not yet possible to attach a mobile phone number to the card. Tentatively, such an opportunity will appear before 2020 year... Track information about bonus program for cardholders " Troika" on official page Mayor of Moscow.
Mobile application "My Troika" for devices with Android and iOS operating systems
- There are many mobile applications for the purchase of travel tickets, but for " Triplets"A separate application has been created" My Three". Through it, there is an opportunity to quickly and without unnecessary problems deposit money into the account of the travel card. VIDEO: How to top up Troika online?
In this review, I want to talk about “ Mobile ticket“, Since many people ask what it is, why and how to connect it. What is a Mobile Ticket? This is, roughly speaking, the Troika card, which is written directly to the SIM card of the phone. In order to get on public transport, all you have to do is put your phone to the turnstile - and voila, the passage is free.
But there are several conditions, namely:
- SIM card with NFC technology support
- NFC-enabled phone
In order to use a mobile ticket, firstly, you need a SIM card with NFC. You need to come to the office of your operator, and not every office has it, or order through their official website.
I have a Megafon SIM card, and using Megafon as an example, I will tell you about a mobile ticket. Everything will be the same for the other operator. Here we have indicated NFC, respectively, they change your SIM card to a new one for free, the number remains, all services remain.
After you have received a SIM card, we insert it into the phone. The phone must also have NFC, and not every phone supports the Mobile Ticket - the list of supported ones can be seen on the official Troika card website.
So, we inserted a SIM card and first of all we go into applications, select Megaphone. Here we see the item "Mobile ticket".
Press, see the balance - 54 units, state: enabled, auto-replenishment disabled. We can turn it off from here, we can see information about the service.
By default, if we are talking about Megafon, the balance should be 150 rubles. If it drops below 90 rubles, then it is automatically replenished from the mobile phone account up to 150 rubles. Personally, I turned off auto-completion, you can also do this, but it's more convenient to leave it so that it is always on.
To replenish a mobile ticket manually, you need to send an SMS to 3210 with the word “Payment” and indicate the amount in rubles, or write “Troika” and the amount in rubles. The money will be charged directly from your phone balance.
For the price - exactly the same as on the Troika, i.e. there are no differences, replenishment of the balance without any interest, a very convenient thing.
As for the cases if your phone is dead. On some phones, for about an hour after it is discharged, the residual voltage remains on the NFC antenna, i.e. The mobile ticket will work for some time. But this is probably the only caveat - if the phone has sat down and has not worked for a long time, then you will not be able to go through the Mobile ticket.
Otherwise, it is extremely convenient, and not only in the metro, but also when paying for travel on buses - just put your phone to the turnstile.
Regarding the devices I have tested, in the case of Samsung, you can check the balance by attaching the phone to the reader, but you won't be able to get on the metro. The turnstile starts to beep and ring. In the case of HTC-10, I checked - everything works.
Here is such a thing, really very convenient, I use. So, if you suddenly did not know about it, although it has already existed for a long time, then fill it out. In any case, after changing your SIM card, you will not lose anything, since the number will be saved, the connected services will also be saved, an additional item "Mobile ticket" will simply be added.
Electronic card "Troika" replaces paper tickets for public transport and metro tokens.
It appeared on April 2, 2013 and today it can do much more than initially: for example, you can pay for a visit to the Tretyakov Gallery or skating at the VDNKh skating rink with the Troika.
How does the Troika card work from a hardware point of view and how does it work? Whether there is a holes in its security system and is it possible to turn the Troika card into an eternal free travel pass?
What's inside the Troika card?
At the heart of the "Troika" card - NFC chip(Near Field Communication), which includes a flash memory module, a radio module and a wireless power system.
The card uses NXP's Mifare Plus chip in compatibility mode with the outdated Mifare Classic (SL1) standard. You can buy such chips on AliBaba at a price of 2 rubles apiece (subject to a bulk order).
The size of the chip itself is about 2 mm(a square in the upper right corner of the mark), the rest is an antenna made of thin copper wire. The device communicates with the turnstile in digital format using radio waves with a frequency of 13.56 MHz. The waves also provide power to the chip.
Note that contactless technology MasterCard PayPass Troika card does not support. Therefore, you cannot write or read information from it in terminals with PayPass.
Such terminals work with social bank cards of the Bank of Moscow with the Troika banking application. These are chip cards that support EMV standard and PIN-code input.
How does the Troika card work?
Information about tickets for public transport in Moscow is recorded on the card. Both single tickets and travel passes can be stored in memory. If you have both on the card at the same time, then the ticket will work first.
But there is nuances... For example, if you have completed 90 minutes, once passing through the metro turnstile and using public transport as many times as you like (in any order), 54 rubles are debited from the card.
Some tickets recorded on the card begin to be valid from the moment of sale, but there are also those that work from the moment of the first validation (recognition by the turnstile).
The system is quite confusing, so let's not bore you with numbers and letters - here is a "short FAQ" from the developers.
How to top up a Troika card?
To replenish cards there is payment terminals and Aeroexpress ticket offices. Insert a card, top up for the required number of trips, or buy a travel card, and drive until you run out of money or time.
You can also top up your card via SMS or online - on the Troika website, in the application of your bank, payment systems like "Wallet".
It is convenient to top up a Troika card on iPhone with Apple Pay in the Moscow Metro application.
Just don't forget to activate the top-up with yellow validator in the turnstiles of the subway! Although Apple uses NXP-made NFC chips, they conflict with chips from the Troika card.
There is also a version of the Moscow Metro application for Android. For the operation, you need a smartphone with NFC. Top up your account in the application, put the card to your smartphone and use it - everything is simple.
Top-up works in the same way in the My Pass application.
You can also top up your card from other systems like Qiwi and Yandex.Money. A smartphone with NFC is in any case only used to activate the recharge - instead of the yellow validator in the terminal.
But the developers warn that not all NFC chips support Mifare classic... So there is a possibility of refusal to replenish.
Is it possible to hack the Troika card?
You can even hack the Pentagon's cybersecurity system (no, we haven't tried it, but ...). Instructions on how to hack Troika appeared in July 2016 on Habrhabr.
The author, Ilya Shevtsov (nickname Ammonia), claimed that for unlimited travel, you would need a smartphone running Android 4.4 or higher with an NFC chip that supports Mifare cards. It is important that the chip is made by NXP, as in the Troika card.
The essence of the hack comes down to cloning a card on a smartphone and replenishing its balance without real money... Do you remember that tickets can be written onto a card from official applications by transferring data from the NFC chip of a smartphone?
Shevtsov spent two weeks studying Troika's security system and the My Travel Card app. It turned out that the data in the memory of the card is stored unencrypted. This allowed the balance to be forged.
Shevtsov developed an application TroikaDumper to avoid performing all operations manually. The developer also said that the system can detect a fake if the Troika is replenished by more than 100 rubles at a time, or if the current time on the card is not updated using a validator in another mode of transport.
The post about hacking from "Habr", of course, was quickly removed. But the application code and instructions for it from GitHub are not.
Is it dangerous? At the very least, you risk the card and the balance on it - if a hack is detected, the card is blocked. In addition, for theft and damage to transport services in Russia criminal liability.
What else do they do with this card?
If you think that one more a plastic card- it is not at all stylish, fashionable, youthful, you can buy instead a silicone bracelet like those that are issued in nightclubs or aqua parks, or a ring. Key rings and other accessories are also available.
In fact, any of them is the same NFC chip, only in a new wrapper. There is no difference in use, except that in terminals that require you to insert a card into the receiver, a bracelet, key fob or ring cannot be replenished.
To remove the NFC chip, the card was dissolved in acetone. The chip was then embedded in biocompatible silicone and placed through a small incision under the skin on the back of the hand.
In addition, Zaitsev had to negotiate with the bank to provide the microcircuit. The video has some bloody details and an example of how it works:
True, it soon became clear that the engineer had incorrectly calculated the antenna parameters, which is why the card did not work at all stations.
Zaitsev took out the chip and later admitted that he was using the usual Troika card. And in place of the old chip, he implanted a new one - from a bank card.
How much do trips on the Troika cost?
The card itself costs 50 rubles. But formally it is security deposit- you can return the card to the cashier and return your fifty kopeck piece. Money from the account, by the way, can also be returned. But only from the balance, not from travel tickets.
You can replenish the card for up to 3,000 rubles and ride with this money for at least five years.
Fare prices such:
- 35 rubles: trip by metro, monorail, MCC or ground transport
- 54 rubles: take the metro once and take public transport several times (with transfers)
You can also add travel tickets to the card.
What other tariffs are there?
One or two fare trips "Single" by metro or public transport, they cost 55 rubles each, and if you take a ticket for 60 trips, you will spend only 28.3 rubles on it (a travel card in this case costs 1,700 rubles).
You can also write down a travel card for a certain number of days. Price - from 210 rubles per day to 18,200 per year. You can ride at least around the clock and not deny yourself anything.
