2 x foam block house. Projects of two-storey houses and cottages from foam blocks. Foam block is a unique material
Based on projects modern houses, we can conclude that foam blocks are leaders among materials for construction. If you need the house to be built quickly, but at the same time the quality, aesthetics and durability are not compromised, then with the help of foam blocks it is possible. Such material will not only save your money, but also the time and effort spent.
Foam block is a unique material
In terms of comfort, projects of two storey houses from foam blocks are absolutely in no way inferior to wooden ones. They have their own characteristics, such houses are vapor-permeable, unlike wood, the foam block is fireproof, more hygienic, and also has a longer service life. Due to the fact that the density of the material is low, you can abandon the massive foundation. Foam blocks have a high level of sound absorption and low thermal conductivity, so you will not be disturbed by extraneous noise.
The project of a two-story house made of foam blocks can be developed with a garage, if necessary, a covered parking space. If you do not want to waste your time, be sure to contact our specialists.
When the site does not please with spaciousness and ideal landscape, but you want to put a large house made of foam concrete on it, you will have to abandon low buildings in favor of two-story buildings. In terms of construction, they are a little more complicated and often come at a higher price, but it is much more convenient to live in them with your family. Suitable project at home, you can choose among a variety of typical options for foam blocks or order an individual design. The main thing is to make a competent calculation of the materials.
To determine whether it is worth building from foam concrete blocks at all two storey house, you will have to consider such a project taking into account several parameters:
- Convenience and comfort.
Some family members may not be able to climb stairs. But the fact that everyone living here will have their own personal space is a definite plus. There will be a place on the site itself for the design and construction of auxiliary buildings from the same foam blocks.
- Conducting construction work.
If you have chosen lungs as the main material foam concrete blocks, there will be no special difficulties. They do not need an expensive and powerful foundation, and the masonry will grow very quickly. The marking of the territory for such a project will not take much time, and it will be quite easy to find or prepare a relatively flat piece of land.
A serious disadvantage is the need for the device of interfloor ceilings. And taking into account the fact that uneven loads are contraindicated for a house made of foam blocks, the construction technology will be further complicated by the presence of armored belts at each level. On the other hand, your project will halve the roof area, which means the amount of work and material costs. However, this plus will immediately negate the need for a reliable ladder (or even more than one).
- Possibilities of planning.
A two-story house built from a foam block is easier to divide into residential and auxiliary sectors. In addition, there are many more opportunities for creating convenient layout- without long corridors and intricate passages. In the design process, it is better to immediately "relocate" the main part of services to the lower level (for example, a boiler room and a utility block) in order to simplify the communication system as much as possible. The only problem is that you will need an additional bathroom on the second floor, so here you will have to sacrifice several squares of usable space.
Description of projects from foam blocks
Project number 1.
A large house made of foam concrete of a complex layout with an attic and a garage with total area 220 m 2. Several interesting solutions have been implemented in this project. For example, in the far corner on the ground floor level, there is a 16 m2 terrace, covered by a ceiling and a balcony at the top. In addition to the main entrance, there is also a black one - from it you can get into a 5x9 m garage through a mini-boiler room.
On the plan of the first level of a foam block house, the area was divided among themselves by the common areas:
- The kitchen-dining room is almost 24 square meters in size, from where there is a single exit to the terrace.
- Living room with a second light and a staircase leading to the attic.
The entrance group is also conveniently planned: from the porch you can immediately get into a spacious entrance hall of 11 m 2, and from there go to the garage (also made of foam blocks), the staircase hall, which combines the living room and dining room, or to the toilet located next to the entrance to the two-story house.
In the attic there is a full-fledged four-room apartment - perhaps without a kitchen. The staircase and the opening of the second light (glazed outside to the very roof) actually divided the residential floor into two blocks. In the right wing there are 12 squares for children of exactly the same size, on the left there is a bedroom with a wardrobe niche (22 + 5 m 2) and another room that the owners can use as an office or a creative workshop. In the center, however, there was only a corridor uniting both wings with two identical bathrooms of 5 m 2 each. An additional door in the middle of the aisle makes it possible to divide the attic floor made of a foam block with an area of 67 squares into two equal halves: "adult" and "children's".
Project number 2.
Another project of a house with an attic, but more compact. There are 90 squares for housing and ancillary services, but in addition to them there is a small terrace in the backyard of 11 m2 and a garage made of foam blocks of 19 m2. m. The first floor has a similar layout to the option discussed above, except that the living room got half of the total area.
The scheme of the entrance lobby has also changed slightly. Here, the vestibule at the porch really plays the role of a cold air cutter, which is very useful if a two-story house made of foam concrete is being built in the northern region. The door from the garage also leads here. Only through this block, according to the project, you can get into the central hall with all the transitions to the adjacent rooms: the kitchen-dining room and the living room with a rise to the second floor.
The attic accommodates only two bedrooms with an area of 9.3 and 17.4 m 2, as well as one bathroom of 5.7 m 2. Moreover, all rooms are located along the side walls made of foam blocks, so that in each there will be inclined ceilings formed by the slopes of the roof. Above the garage, after the design, there is not much free space, which can only be adapted to the attic.
Project number 3.
The project of a two-story house, built from foam block, with a long and narrow veranda in the backyard has its own flavor. Here, the largest room on the first level, the living room, is complemented by a glazed bay window. Outside, above it, there is a balcony with an exit from the upper bedroom.
A rather complicated at first glance plan of the entrance block will suit those who prefer to come and leave the house without disturbing the household. From the porch, it is easy to immediately get into the vestibule, and then into the common hall, from where the transitions lead to the stairs, to the utility room, toilet or kitchen. From here you can also go to the large living room or living room next to it.
As a result of a successful design, in the under-roof space of a cottage made of foam blocks, a place was found for two bedrooms and a rather large bathroom under a pitched roof of 13.7 m 2. You can get here from the L-shaped corridor, which unites the staircase hall on the plan and exits from both rooms.
What does the construction cost depend on?
The most expensive elements houses made of foam blocks are the foundation and the box itself. The base needs a special approach, since it must "work" correctly on those soils that are on the site, and at the same time do not allow them to affect load-bearing walls... This will be one of the varieties monolithic foundation: tape or plate. The first option is suitable for “calm” soil, which does not sag under load and is not subject to winter heaving. In all other cases, you need slab foundation- it is more expensive, but provides a rigid base for fragile foam blocks.
It will not be cheap if the customer wants to acquire a basement on a site with a high level of hot water or weak soils. In this case, it will be necessary to develop a project of a combined foundation with a recessed slab and a tape brought to the surface along the entire contour. In addition, it will turn out to be so powerful that it will be possible to put not just a two-story house made of foam blocks over it, but at least a Khrushchev.
Such costs will not be justified by the presence of an additional basement underground, so it is better to put up with it and move everything that you wanted to place in the cellar to the side extension.
About half of all funds will go to the box: the purchase of materials, masonry with reinforcement and subsequent turnkey finishing. Foam concrete blocks will definitely need to be sheathed outside so that they are not saturated with moisture, and at the same time lay insulation under the hinged facade. Overall cost finished house with finishing according to the standard design will be at least 20 thousand rubles. per square. But the more complex the architecture and the layout of the rooms, the more expensive the building will be.
Turnkey construction of foam concrete with all communications will increase costs up to 30,000 rubles / m2, and further growth of prices will depend only on the chosen finishing materials.

Dmitry contacted our company with an interesting draft design to calculate the cost. Our experience allows us to carry out such calculations for draft designs with minimal errors, no more than 2%. Having visited our construction sites and received the construction cost, Dmitry chose us from many of our colleagues in the workshop to complete the project. Our team has started to perform a difficult and expressive country project with spacious rooms and garage, large windows and sophisticated architecture. After the project was completed, Dmitry chose us as a contractor company, and we, in turn, wanted to do further work at the same high level! Since the object is large, Dmitry proposed a phased cooperation, namely, upon successful completion of the foundation work, we proceeded to the second part of the project - walls + ceilings + roof. Also, for Dmitry, the exact timing of construction was important, in order to speed up the construction processes, the team was reinforced with 2 experienced bricklayers.

When Customers come to us with bright, modern ideas of the future home, we light up twice! After all, to work on a new stylish project it is always interesting and a challenge, how to implement all the bold ideas from a constructive point of view, what materials to use in this case? Vladimir bought a plot with picturesque views of the Oka River! This view could not be ignored, so a dizzying terrace (51.1 m2) and a large balcony, oriented towards beauty, became an indispensable attribute of the future house! Vladimir wanted to have a rest in nature in a wooden house, but it was necessary to build a house in a short time and frame construction technology became an ideal solution for such tasks! If you are to be different, then in everything! The house was made even more spectacular by a vertical finish imitating a timber made of durable larch, painted in natural shades with an emphasized wood texture. Laminated windows complement the modern look of the house! It turned out to be a great country house, with a twist and at the same time incredibly functional.
Considering the projects of two-story houses made of foam blocks, first of all, one should pay attention to how the living space of the building is distributed. Experience has shown that it is optimal to place the common rooms, living room, hall, dining room and kitchen downstairs. Upstairs it is advisable to arrange personal apartments - bedrooms, study, nursery. However, deviations from the canons are perfectly acceptable in accordance with your personal preferences.
If you want to make changes to the finished project documentation by slightly moving or removing partitions between rooms, moving doorways, then this is not difficult to do. However, in standard projects it is unacceptable to make significant changes affecting the load-bearing walls, foundation or roof. In this case, the documents will have to be redone, or even order the design of a house or a cottage.
Selection of building materials
Foam blocks are distinguished by density. This indicator must be reflected in project documentation... Since, for example, low density indicates brittleness of the material. Only material purchased from a well-proven company can be truly high-quality and durable. Good blocks are very light, soundproof, fire resistant. Projects of two-story houses from foam blocks can be equipped with a variety of architectural decorations (such as bay windows, turrets and arches), since foam concrete blocks are easy to process.
High-quality foam blocks are environmentally friendly and safe. Their manufacturing technology endows blocks next to valuable properties and brings the material closer to wooden houses. As well wooden house, the structure of foam blocks is vapor-permeable, that is, it is "breathable". Finally, the speed with which projects of two-storey houses from foam blocks are being implemented allows significant savings on construction costs. Remember, though, the savings should come from less time and effort, not about giving up qualified designers and builders.
The Dachny Sezon company carries out the construction of 2-storey houses from foam blocks for ready-made and individual projects... Porous construction material has a low weight and does not create a large load on the foundation. Foam concrete is characterized by high vapor permeability, fire resistance and frost resistance. Over the years, it is only gaining strength. In such houses, optimum humidity and temperature are maintained throughout the year.
A full-fledged second floor provides ample opportunities for the implementation of design solutions, and also allows you to equip comfortable bedrooms, allocating the first floor for noisy public spaces. A two-storey house is a universal option for suburban housing, which allows you to create all the conditions for a comfortable stay, even on a small plot.
